Eli, Sharmon and Jackson

Sharmon developed a passion for dog training, specifically positive reinforcement training, when she and her husband adopted their first dog, Murray. Murray, who was three years old when adopted, had resource guarding and aggression issues with people and dogs. Not knowing much about dog training at the time, she was determined to find effective and humane methods to help him. She spent countless hours researching and consulting with dog trainers about various techniques on how to work with canine aggression. She was immediately turned off with any type of punitive training, it didn’t make sense to her and seemed unfair and wrong. Murray responded well to reward based training and after a lot of patience and consistency, he was able to overcome his issues. Her training with Murray and her current dogs, Eli and Jackson, who also have aggression issues, as well as her clients canine family members have made her a strong advocate for positive reinforcement training. Sharmon hopes to inspire others to use positive training techniques with their canine friends.
