Therapy Dog Preparation Course
This course is a prerequisite to the Delta Society Pet Partner Team Training Course

Thank you for your interest in the therapy dog preparation course. The next schedule of courses is Monday June 2, 2008  from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Amazon Community center; Please call or email me to register and make a payment. Each class meets one time a week for 5 weeks. All classes are aprox. 2 hours in length. Three classes are held in the classroom and 2 are in-field practice. You may take the classes as long as you like until you are ready for the evaluation. Courses involve both the animal and handler and are designed to instruct and prepare potential teams for AAA/AAT and the Pet Partner Team Evaluation. There will be role play, demonstrations and hands on instruction. You may sign up for an evaluation any time during or after you take the course. Taking the course does not guarantee that you will pass your evaluation.
Harness, gentle leader and/or regular buckle collars or safety collars are acceptable. No chain collars or leashes of any kind are permitted.
Dogs must be at least 4 months old to take the training. Senior dogs must be pre-approved Animals that are aggressive or fearful will be considered either not ready or not appropriate for AAA/AAT courses or visiting programs. If your dog is considered not ready you will be required to have an individual consultation to resolve the problem before you can return to class. Individual consultation fees apply.
