Puppy Socialization:

For puppies 8-16 weeks of age.

Early puppyhood is a critical time for socialization and learning. Puppy class can help your puppy reach their full potential! Our five week class for puppies ages eight to 16 weeks will teach you how to connect and build a relationship with your puppy through fun and rewarding experiences using positive reinforcement training. We will focus on socialization, exploration, problem prevention and basic training to help prepare your puppy for a lifetime by your side!

* Please note: Puppies need their first set of vaccines at least 10 days prior to the first class and a first de-worming.

Length: 5 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $160.00

Basic Training:

For dogs 4 months and older.

Pawsitive Paws wants you to have a dog you can enjoy while at home or while out and about. Our six week basic training class will teach you how to effectively communicate and train your dog using positive reinforcement. We will focus on teaching basic skills such as attention, sit, down, loose leash walking, recall, wait, leave-it and stay in a fun and rewarding manner.

Length: 6 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $160

Canine Good Citizen Preparation:

For dogs 6 months and older.

This class focuses on helping you and your dog pass the 10 part CGC test using rewarding methods. You will work on proofing the basics and good manners in the presence of people and other dogs.

Length: 4 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $160

*This class is for dogs who have completed the basic training class.

Impulse Control:

For dogs 4 months and older.

This class focuses on exercises and games to help you teach your dog impulse control skills such as: attention, wait, settle, go to your mat and leave-it.

Length: 4 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $140.00

Leash and Community Manners:

For dogs 4 months and older.

This class focuses on exercises and games to work on loose leash walking skills with distractions, impulse control, polite greetings with people and politely passing other dogs on leash.

It is also a great class to get you prepared for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) prep class and the Out and About class.

Length: 4 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $140.00

*This class is for dogs who have completed the basic training class.

Out and About:

This is a fun class that focuses on socialization and reinforcing manners and the basics in new situations. Every week we visit a new and fun, dog friendly location.

Length: 4 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $160 (this does not cover any other costs like parking fees, meals, etc.)

*This class is for dogs that have completed the basic training class. Dogs need to be good with other dogs and people (they can not be reactive and/or aggressive).

Tricks and Games:

This is a fun class where you will learn how to teach your dog tricks such as touch, shake, wave, roll over, wipe paws, salute, and take a bow. There will also be an introduction to agility equipment as well as nose work. We will play games to reinforce the basic cues and to build your dog’s confidence.

Length: 4 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Cost: $140

*This class is for dogs who have completed the basic training class.

Fun Scent Games:

Dogs learn to systematically search boxes and other objects for hidden food with the level of difficulty increasing each week.  It’s fascinating to watch the dogs catch a scent and make a find. This class gets a high rating for fun.

Length: 5 weeks, One one-hour class per week.

Private Training Sessions:

If you would prefer one-on-one sessions rather than a group class or you are experiencing issues with your dog that can’t be addressed in a group class setting, Pawsitive Paws provides private training sessions for you and your dog. We will help you learn to communicate, train, and bond with your dog through gentle and effective methods, based on scientific principles, using positive reinforcement. In addition to basic manners, Pawsitive Paws can help you address common behavioral issues such as:

  • Potty Training
  • Leash Walking
  • Jumping Up
  • Mouthing
  • Chewing
  • Digging
  • Barking

Cost:
Single one-hour private training session: $150.00
Four one-hour training sessions package: $540.00

* Private training sessions are only scheduled during the day on Wednesdays and Thursdays and we do not travel out of East County. We meet clients out of our service area either at a park or our facility in the La Mesa/El Cajon area.
